I don’t think…. I’ve ever read something so infuriatingly offensive in regards to rape as that line right there. For those of you who may not understand fully, basically this… Mark is saying that sex is like chocolate cake, basically something most people find as a delicious treat and thus desire it. It is somewhat accurate analogy if only because hey fuckass some people hate chocolate, or hey some people are allergic, but simply because MARK likes the chocolate cake he assumes everyone must find it equally deliscious and wonderful. In other words he is assuming the same thing in regards to sex.

NOW HERE IS THE THING. EVEN IF SEX IS LIKE CHOCOLATE CAKE. EVEN IF CHOCOlATE CAKE IS YOUR FAVORITE DESSERT. IT STILL AMOUNTS TO THE SAME THING. NO ONE HAS A FUCKING RIGHT TO FORCE FEED YOU IT IF YOU DON’T WANT IT. NO ONE HAS ARIGHT TO FORCE YOU TO HAVE SEX. IT GOES AGAINST EVERY HUMAN RIGHT YOU HAVE.

Now now Rachel, didn’t you see Mark doesn’t think it’s acceptable he’s not saying it’s ok but that it shouldn’t be so hyped up.

If Mark really didn’t think it was acceptable he never would have compared it to chocolate cake. He never would have called it “coerced sex”

that’s another thing.

What is coerced sex?

Basically when someone coerces you to do something, it’s that they are trying to convince you to do something you are reluctant or unwilling to do. Sometimes using tricks or what have you. IN THE END HOWEVER. when you are coerced into doing something, however unwillingly you have agreed. YOU HAVE GIVEN YOUR CONSENT. RAPE IS NOT COERCED SEX. IT IS UNCONSENTUAL FORCED SEX WITH A PERSON WHO DOES NOT, OR IS NOT IN THE RIGHT STATE OF MIND TO GIVE PERMISSION TO, SEX. 

Then he goes on to say that if men concede to having rape be defined as the most heinous crime the “feminists will be able to use this to their advantage.” How exactly can anyone anywhere use this sorta thing in an advantageous matter? Does Mark think that by admitting to the seriousness of rape that every woman out there will lie and say that so and so raped her just because she is peeved. not only is that ludicrous but it is fucking sexist to assume that all women especially feminists would stoop to something like that. 

Finally we get to the second paragraph. and all I can say is fuck you. Fuck you mark. Fuck you for assuming that if a woman doesn’t go to the police to report a rape it is simply because she doesn’t think it’s a big deal. Fuck you for believing that a woman isn’t forever emotionally scarred by rape. fuck you for assuming that she even CAN go to the police without fear for her life and or well being. Fuck you for assuming that every woman is completely mentally capable. Fuck you for assuming that rape doesn’t create psycological damage as well as physical. Fuck you for not realizing how some women are too ashamed thanks to this victim blame based society to report rape because they think that everyone will think it’s their own fault. Fuck you for not realizing how terrifying reporting rape can be outta of fear that no one will believe you, or even worse, that they will but not care. after all, all that happened was they were forced into something they like after all. Fuck you mark, for not realizing that the effects of rape last much longer than the rape itself. Fuck you for assuming that victims of rape, don’t have recurring nightmares, or develope intimacy trouble. 

Also. Fuck you for assuming that only woman get rapped. Fuck you for forgetting how many men are raped and what an even lower percentage of them report it. Fuck you for forgetting the children. Are they only being force fed cake Mark? Fuck you. fuck you. FUCK YOU. FUCKING FUCK YOU.

I would never wish rape on ANYONE but I truly wish this “Mark” could could just feel the emotional damage that women and men and CHILDREN feel when they are raped. Rape to me is worse than death, because it is forcing your will on someone else, stripping away their humanity.
